Out On An Island is a community-led initiative, and we’re always looking to connect with individuals, groups, and organisations who share our passion for LGBTQ+ heritage, inclusion, and storytelling. You can also reach out via our social media channels or attend one of our regular meetups — we’d be glad to say hello in person.

Out On An Island: The Book

In 2021, Out On An Island: LGBTQ+ Oral Histories from the Isle of Wight was published, the first book to document the lives, struggles, and celebrations of LGBTQ+ people connected to the Island. Featuring personal testimonies, historic research, and creative contributions, the book has become a vital part of the project’s legacy.
